Sean Newcomb has a very good outing in game one as he allowed just one ER on three hits and no walks while striking out eight in 6.0 innings of work. He is now 12-8 with a 3.82 ERA on the year. AJ Minter grabbed his 14th save of the year. Dansby Swanson led the attack with two RBIs, while Kurt Suzuki had three hits and an RBI. The Braves averaged 4.70 rpg and have allowed 3.84 rpg on the road for the year. 

Anibal Sanchez gets the nod for the Giants in this one and he has gone 6-5 with a 3.09 ERA in 21 games (20 starts) on the year, including 5-2 with a 3.07 ERA in 11 starts on the road. They had just three total hits in the game and that just isn’t going to get it done. Taking the loss was Dereck Rodriguez, who allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks in 6.1 innings of work. Hee is now 6-3 with a 2.35 ERA on the year.
